Puyallup, WA – May 8, 2009 – With a national hit under her belt at the young age of 13, LeAnn Rimes took her career to stunning heights, and continues the journey at the age of 28. She has sold more than 37 million albums, won two Grammy and three ACM awards, and 12 Billboard Music awards. She is the youngest Grammy winner, and the first country recording artist to win in their “Best New Artist” category. LeAnn’s works, including “One Way Ticket,” “I Need You” and “Nothin’ ‘Bout Love Makes Sense” have received critical acclaim.

The LeAnn Rimes concert will be held on Friday, Sept. 25, 7:30 p.m. The concert, part of Columbia Bank’s Puyallup Fair Concert Series will start selling tickets on Saturday, May 16 at 10 a.m. at Ticketmaster. Ticket prices are $15 / $25 / $40, and $50 for Golden Circle, and include Fair gate admission, and seats are reserved.

Born in Jackson, Mississippi, she won her first talent contest at five, and at seven recorded her first album. Her family moved to Garland, Texas where she began honing her skills as a country artist, performing on Johnnie High’s Country Music Revue in Ft. Worth. By the age of 11 she had recorded her second album, which included “Blue.” Legendary executive Mike Curb heard it, and signed her on his label.

Her current album, Family, was entirely co-written by LeAnn. The lead single, “Nothin’ Better to Do” put her in the spotlight as the first artist to have a song on Billboard’s Country, Adult Contemporary, and Dance charts simultaneously.

LeAnn won the CMT Award for “Collaborative Video of the Year” with Bon Jovi and the Gospel Music Association’s Dove Award for her song from the Evan Almighty movie soundtrack. She has scored numerous hit singles in her career, including “Can’t Fight The Moonlight,” which went #1 in 11 countries, and “How Do I Live,” which holds the record for the longest charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at 69 weeks.

LeAnn has acted in film and television, and is an accomplished author, creating children’s books, Jag and Jag’s New Friend, as well as Holiday In Your Heart, which was later adapted into an ABC special starring Rimes. She has supported charity organizations over the years, including The Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, Children’s Miracle Network, and the ‘Stop Hiding, Start Living’ psoriasis advocacy campaign.
